When picking a dentist, I looked for someone I could trust to provide my family with only the treatment we needed. Most of us don't know if a dentist is just saying we need a procedure done to make an extra buck or it is really needed. Dr. Skeens and his staff gave my family honesy opinions and options about our required treatment. My young children had a bad first experience with another dentist. My wife explained the situation to Dr. Skeen and his staff when we took them there for the first time. Everyone at the practice treated my children like kings and queens. This office earned their trust and they are actually looking forward to going back.

On my visist, Dr. Skeens took the time to show me and explain the problem areas in my mouth. This was the first dentist to take the extra time to explain things. He earned my trust. Dr. Skeens and his staff completed the required work and sold me on their high caliber of professionalism. There was no pain and it was evident their number one goal is patient comfort.

If you are looking for a new dentist, your search is over. The staff at this office is the best you will find.

I used to be so scared of dentists that I would shake and cry during the whole exam, but NOT with Dr. Skeens. He and his staff (Renee, Sarah and Dale) are so patient, so kind and so warm. They talked me through any fears and now I (brace for it) actually ENJOY going to the dentist. Dr. Skeens and his staff know my first name without having to look it up on my chart. They have a busy office but they remember ME and the work they have done on me in the past. All of my front teeth on top have cosmetic crowns on them and they look so beautiful and natural. People compliment me on my smile daily. Yesterday I was cutting down a tree with a chainsaw at work and a lady from that neighborhood stopped me to ask a question. I was filthy-dirty with sawdust and soot all over me and all she noticed was my "beautiful smile" and she commented that I "looked like a movie star." I never got comments like that before going to this dentist.

About Hygienist: Sarah is so professional and calming and kind. My teeth feel all slickery-clean when she is done with them. She knows me by name, remembers my kid's name, what I do for a living and what flavor of tooth polish I like without having to reference my chart. Now that's service!

Dr. Skeens is very professional yet very personable as well. He and his staff (Dale, Renee, and Sarah) all clearly try to make the patients as comfortable as possible. My husband and I both have to have a lot of work done due to prior neglect, but they make it easy to keep up with it all. I had multiple fillings and a crown put in by Dr. Skeens, and two wisdom teeth removed recently. He usually manages to get the injections in painlessly or almost painlessly, and that seems to be a rare talent. He is very considerate during all procedures, and so is Renee who assists him. He made follow up calls following my extraction personally, though he did it so well that have no problems and very little pain.

At the front, Dale is very good at working out convinient appointment times, phoning with reminders, and arranging billing properly. Everyone there knows all of our family and asks about others when one visits. I would (and do) recommend them to anyone with a fear of dentists -- they will make it go away.

About Hygienist: Sarah is amazing! She is very gentle, and exceptionally patient. I take me children to this practice as well, and my 4-year-old son is very fond of getting his teeth cleaned by Sarah. It is not the toys (though they have good toys), he enjoys the process and she talks him through it so that he has fun. My 7-year-old is very difficult, but Sarah handles even her with patience and attention to detail. I avoided dental offices for years before I found this practice, but I will stick with them for as long as they'll have me.

I had severe tooth pain the day before Christmas and Dr. Skeens returned my call on Christmas day and made a perscription for Vicodone to get me throught the holidays. Once his office reopened I was able to be seen the next day. I had to have a tooth removed and the process was super quick (less than 5 minutes) and relatively painless. I am in the proces of having my implant tooth installed.

Dr Skeens and his staff were referred to me by a co worker, after a lengthy search for a suitable dentist. My co worker was relentless in trying to get me to try Dr Skeens, after which I eventually gave in. All I can say is thank you to that co worker, as this was the most pleasant dental experience I have had. The level of professionalism with which Dr Skeens and his team operate was outstanding. The cleanliness of the office, state of the art equipment, sincerity of the staff and painless procedure, was second to none!! From the moment I stepped into Dr. Skeens office, I felt welcomed, comfortable, informed and well taken care of. Dr. Skeens and his staff are some of the most amazing people I have ever come across. They are all accommodating and very thorough in every way imaginable. They are professional, compassionate and understanding to each and everyone of their patients, which has made each of my dental visits a pleasent experience. Last week, Dr. Skeens completed a crown and a composite restoration in my mouth. Having sold my dental practice to him, I already knew that his dentistry was of a caliber far above that of most dentists, as I was extremely particular in choosing the person who would continue to care for my patients and friends. I'm so pleased that the patients who had seen me for 26 years are now so happy to be seeing Dr. Skeens as well.

Only over these past few weeks have I had the perspective of "the patient". He's very gentle and capable, and the staff (who used to work chairside with me), is absolutely terrific at making guests feel "at home". I have recommended Dr. Skeens widely, and now have first hand experience knowing that the atmosphere he creates is as excellent as his dentistry!

I absolutely think that Dr Skeens is the BEST dentist. He is the only dentist I have ever been to that makes me feel 100% relaxed. I trust him completely. I know that he would never recommend doing something unless it was absolutely necessary. He is perfectionist when it comes to his work. He takes pride in everything he does. He is gentle, thoughtful and concern about his patients and the work that he does. I leave his office smiling and knowing that my teeth have been taken care of completely. Dr. Skeenz is wonderful! His facility, staff, and professionalism is superb! He's extremely attentive to detail and does excellent work. As soon as I walked in the door Dale greeted me with a "Hello" and a smile. Everytime I've been there everyone always makes sure I'm comfortable and relaxed. If I'm not comfortable, they provide head phones and a wide variety of music to listen to. Dr. Skeenz and Renee always have time to answer any questions I may have while cleaning or filling in my cavities. At my last visit, Dale found out that my insurance company charged me a $50.00 dollar deductible everytime I scheduled a visit. She called my insurance company and notified them of their mistake and is having them credit my account. Thanks Dale! As for Renee, she is a HOOT! Her southern accent and her energy is a joy to be around. Go visit Dr. Skeenz you won't be disappointed. Thank you to everyone!

I had avoided dental work for longer than I care to admit. Once I started looking for a dentist, my brother recommended his own dentist, Dr. Skeens. After a brief internal debate about how much longer I could reasonably put it off, I called and made an appointment.

The office itself has a pleasant atmosphere and Dr. Skeens and his staff, Dale, Sarah, and Renee, are warm and friendly as well as efficient. I had to have several procedures done over a series of appointments. Dr. Skeens and his staff worked with me to fit appointments into my schedule. To top it off, I never sat in the waiting room long enough to go through a magazine.

Dr. Skeens and his staff made every effort to make sure that I was comfortable during my visits. More importantly, they made sure that I felt no pain during the procedures, and followed up later to make sure that I was okay. The standard of care that Dr. Skeens' office provides is outstanding!

I've traded avoidance for regular dental care. In fact, I've already scheduled my 6 month appointment! I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Hoffman has been my dentist for many years so, when she said she was retiring, I wasn't sure what I would do. I thought I would stay with the practice and give Dr. Skeens a try since Sarah, Rene and Dale like him and have decided to stay with him. It seems as though he is keeping everything the same which I like. He hasn't done any work on me but I do like his demeanor and he seems genuine and caring.

I cannot recommend Dr. Skeens more highly. I am impressive with both his kindness and courtesy and his dental work. I am apprehensive to say the least when it comes to dental work. Dr. Skeens has never made me feel that my distress is something to be ashamed of. Both hygensists are excellent and very detail oriented. And Dale the receptionist keeps everything running smoothly. Overall an excellent office.

Dr. Skeens has been my general dentist for the last 3 years and I am very happy. He has done my fillings, cleanings, and removed my wisdom teeth, and always does a great job. We have been using him for the last two years, and no other doctor we have met has been as conscientious and thorough. He is careful to do a really good job, taking extra time when needed. Not many doctors do that in these days of assembly-line medicine.

My 86-year old mom really likes him too; and if she says so, he must be good! She is needed a fair amount of work (being 86), and she is hard to please. I used to have to drive her 30 miles to Escondido before we found him.

When Dr. Skeens left his previous practice, we followed him to Encinitas even though we travel daily by bicycle. The 20-mile roundtrip bike ride to see him is well worth it. (you can see a pic of us on our bike there!)

I had such a great experience that I had to write and recommend Dr. Skeens. The caring atmosphere of Greg Skeens and his Staff helped me overcome my anxiety about pain associated with dental work. I had 3 procedures done today and Dr. Skeens called me at 8:30 pm to see if I had any pain or problems. How amazing is it for a medical professional to personally call after office hours and see how I was doing! This level of attention and care can be found in his Staff also - from making the appointment to having my teeth cleaned, I was treated like a valued client.
